
Crafter Program
INFORMATION
A crafter is defined as individual producing domestic handcrafted
items in the home with collegiate marks, and selling/distributing
to individual consumers via events or direct sales. This might include
events organized by church, school, county, state, craft, holiday,
Junior League, street festivals, gift marts, or flea markets.
This license allows a Crafter to sell to individual consumers only.
Sales of items on a wholesale basis to a third party are not permitted.
All items must be hand-made. No commercially manufactured items
are allowed.
If anticipated sales will exceed 500 units or sales revenue of
more than $2,500 in one year, please refer to www.clc.com
for more information on the Local or Standard Licenses available
through the University’s licensing agent, The Collegiate Licensing
Company.
An Officially Licensed Collegiate Craft label will be required
to be affixed to all products.
The annual licensing fee for the Crafter’s License varies
– see Program Fees.
A sample of each item to be offered for sale bearing the University’s
trademarks and logos must be submitted for review before the License
is granted. Samples should be sent to: Ken Corbett, Trademark and
Licensing Director, 221 Thornwell Administrative Annex, Columbia,
SC 29208 or emailed to trademarks@gwm.sc.edu.
Once the samples are reviewed and approved, a Crafter’s License
Agreement will be sent to the Crafter for signature. This License
Agreement should be returned with a check or money order made payable
to “University of South Carolina” and sent to me at:
